Greetings from Jonesville, VA

We arrived in Charlotte, NC last Friday evening and after renting a car the next day, we headed towards Virginia. We drove through lush green hills on roads with hardly any traffic. It was a beautiful drive under partly cloudy skies. We arrived at Dick and Marge's in early afternoon.

We were surprised to see Dick walking with a walker and soon learned he had knee surgery last Tuesday. How blessed we felt that we arrived in time to help both Dick and Marge! They feel badly we haven't gone sight-seeing, or out to dinner; and at the same time, they also are very grateful we came when we did, saying, 'we couldn't have done it without you'. Over the years they have done so much for us--we see this as a small way to show them how much we love and appreciate them. We have taken over the cooking and been helping out with other chores and making sure Dick puts ice on his knee and does the CPM machine six hours daily. It has been nice to just sit in the same room together, talk, laugh, and sometimes (if there is time) just read or write in our journal.
