A friend of James's from work invited us to go sailing out on the Columbia River. We are die hard wake boarders and everyone knows that you DO NOT want wind when you go water skiing. Of course, when there is wind, it is a sail boaters paradise. Dan informed us that every Thursday the sail boaters get together and have races and so invited us to participate. I picked James up from work, with fast food in hand so we could make it out to the roundevous spot in good time. All was going well until a car turned into us--the very spot that Aaron had fixed 2x in the past few months because of 2 hit and runs! *sigh*
We made it out to the meeting place and all boarded the craft and headed out to the start line. There were so many boats and all were anticipating victory. Tonight there would be none because the wind refused to cooperate. The race was scrubbed and we ended up motoring over 'The Island Cafe' a marina restaurant and had a nice meal, just the four of us. We were down by the I-5 Bridge that connects Oregon with Washington; you can see it the bridge (below) in the distance.
