Friday Harbor--July 15, 2011

It was a beautiful day yesterday; we rode 25 miles stopping at English Camp--where there was an American camp and an English camp in the mid 1800's and a dispute over the killing of a pig (belonging to the English), the discontent lasted several decades.  We visited Krystal Farms--where we saw  alpacas, Lime Kiln Park where we looked across the strait at Vancouver Island and Victoria.  Some of us slept on picnic tables...

We stopped at the Lavender Farm and refreshed ourselves with lavender ice cream and then headed back to the B&B for a soak in the hot tub.

It was raining when we got out and we all piled in Dan's truck and headed back to Lime Kiln Park where we roasted brats on the beach in the rain--didn't seem to bother us.  We drove down the coast a short distance where we saw a couple of Minke whales. Fun to see, but not as spectacular as seeing the Orcas the night before.  It was a fun day!
