Friday Harbor

Here we are on San Juan Island. The weather is in the high 60's, but no rain. The ferry ride here was spectacular and the Ivars Clam Chowder we bought on the ferry was wonderful.

We had a couple hours before we could check into 'Inn to the Woods' and so we drove to Roche Harbor and walked through the town and out onto the dock before having an early dinner at 'The Madrona' where we had halibut.

Then we headed for the Inn and checked in. We have a beautiful room with our own hot tub outside.

We just saw about 20 whales breaching and blowing and slapping their tails. It was fun to see them rolling onto their back. A young woman was there who lives here, she says she comes down to watch a lot and has never seen it like this. It was definitely a journal moment!
